Amber’s Story
I’m a death midwife, grief guide and council facilitator. I am here to support the dying and their care circles with compassion, presence, and reverence for the sacred transitions of life and death. I also host Grieve and Breathe, a grief ceremony I share locally, online, and at retreats around the world.
My initiation into this work began after the death of my mother by suicide — a loss that reshaped my understanding of life, death, and love. Through my own healing, I developed practices to help me live within grief rather than beyond it. These experiences have become the foundation of my work and shape how I hold space for others.
I support those grieving a mother or father, people living with chronic illness, survivors of suicide, and those navigating BIPOC and queer grief, compound grief, and pet loss, among others.
My mission is to normalize grief and grief support in community — to remember that we grieve because we love, and that grief itself is a natural, human expression of that love. My hope is to help people feel less alone and more supported, with tools that bring gentleness and grounding during life’s hardest times. I believe in being a beacon of both grief and joy, because the two can coexist beautifully.
I love this work because it reminds me daily of the resilience of the human spirit. I am deeply moved by the transformations that unfold through breathwork, ritual, and ceremony and by the beauty of gathering in community to share stories, witness one another, and honor what has been lost while celebrating what remains.
Grieve and Breathe
Gathering in the ancient rhythm of breath and grief, together.
Grieve & Breathe is co-faciliated by Amber Deylon and Jenn Parma
Grieve + Breathe is a sacred ceremony and communal space to honor the many shapes of grief we carry. Through guided ritual, council, conscious breathwork, embodiment practices, and sound healing, we gather to soften, release, and reconnect to ourselves and to one another.
Each ceremony is an invitation to slow down and listen. To let the breath move what words cannot. To allow tears, stillness, laughter, and silence to coexist. Together, we create a space where grief is witnessed rather than fixed, where it can transform into presence, tenderness, and even joy.
We endeavor to have you leave feeling lighter, more open, and deeply connected—to your body, your breath, and the shared experience of being human.
Grieve + Breathe is held bi-monthly at the beautiful Light + Space studio in Ojai, California, with additional gatherings and retreats offered in other locations around the world.
